Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a warehouse fire on Acre Lane in Brixton.
A dryer was destroyed by fire and part of the roof was also damaged by the blaze. Around 49 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
One of the Brigade’s 32-metre turntable ladders was used as an observation tower at the scene to provide an aerial view of the incident.
The Brigade was called at 0341 and the fire was under control by 0659. Fire crews from Brixton, Clapham, Battersea, Peckham, Tooting, Lambeth and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
