Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters attended a fire on Park Road North in Acton.
Part of a four-roomed third floor flat in a 13-storey residential block was damaged by fire. Two women were rescued from the flat by firefighters. They have been taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews suffering from smoke inhalation.
People were advised to avoid the area whilst firefighters worked to bring the fire under control.
The Brigade's Control Officers have received around 15 calls about the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1343 and the fire was brought under control by 1429. Crews from Chiswick, Ealing, Hammersmith and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire has been recorded as undetermined.
