Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire at a terraced house on Thames Avenue in Perivale.
Most of the roof, part of the first floor and a small part of the ground floor was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
Firefighters used one of the Brigade's 32-metre turntable ladders as an observation tower.
Station Commander Stephen McGhie, who was at the scene, said: "Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire and stop it spreading to neighbouring properties."
The Brigade was called at 2144 and the fire was brought under control by 2306. Firefighters from Ealing, Northolt, Southall and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
