Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a shop on Bethnal Green Road.
A small part of a mezzanine floor within the ground-floor shop used as a store room was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1619 and the fire was under control by 1742. Fire crews from Shoreditch, Old Kent Road, Shadwell and Bethnal Green fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
