Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire at a disused pub with flats above on Naval Row in Blackwall.
Part of a ground floor kitchen was damaged by fire. Four people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1201 and the fire was under control by 1311. Fire crews from Shadwell, East Greenwich, Whitechapel, Barking and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
