Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a semi-detached house on London Road in Chadwell Heath.
The first floor of the two-storey house was destroyed by the fire. Two people left the building before the Brigade arrived and were treated on scene by London Ambulance Service.
Control Officers took 11 calls regarding the fire. The first was received at 1015 and the incident was over for firefighters at 1047. Crews from Dagenham, Ilford and Romford fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
