Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire involving an outbuilding on White Post Lane in Hackney Wick.

Half of a single-storey wooden hut used as a bar area was damaged by fire. Firefighters rescued a man who was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 14 calls to the blaze.

The Brigade was called at 0604 and the fire was under control by 0714. Fire crews from Homerton, Bethnal Green and Leyton fire stations attended the scene.

The fire is believed to have been caused by a charcoal heater igniting nearby combustible materials.
