Bungalow fire - Southgate

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire at a detached bungalow and converted loft space on Ringmer Place in Southgate. 

Most of the ground floor was damaged and the roof was destroyed by the fire. Three people left the building before the Brigade arrived. 

One of the Brigade's 32-metre turntable ladders was used at the scene as a water tower to help fight the fire from above. 

Control Officers took the first of five calls at 1917 and mobilised firefighters from Edmonton, Enfield, Southgate and surrounding fire stations attended the scene. The fire was under control by 2132.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
