Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters attended a fire on Hailsham Avenue in Streatham.
Half of a loft conversion on the second floor of a mid-terraced house converted into flats was damaged by fire. One man and two children left the property before firefighters arrived and were assessed at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 1958 and Control Officers mobilised crews from West Norwood, Brixton and Clapham fire stations to the scene. A 32-metre turntable ladder also attended and was used as an observation tower, helping to provide the Incident Commander with a greater situational awareness of the fire. The fire was extinguished by 2146.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
