Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a mid terraced house on Middleton Avenue in Chingford.
The ground floor was destroyed by the fire. Half of the first floor stairs and part of the first floor were damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
Control Officers received the call to the fire at 0519 and mobilised firefighters from Chingford, Woodford and Walthamstow fire stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 0627.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
