Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a mid terraced house on Credon Road in Plaistow.
Part of the ground floor was damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by an electrical fault.
Control Officers took the first of four calls at 1045 and mobilised firefighters from Plaistow, Poplar, East Ham and Leytonstone Fire Stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 1428.
