Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a public house on St Mary's Lane in Upminster.
Firefighters extinguished a fire in the cellar. There were no reports of any injuries.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by an electric fault in an ice machine.
The Brigade was called at 2338 and the incident was over for firefighters at 0013. Crews from Hornchurch, Harold Hill and Dagenham fire stations attended the scene.
