Basement fire - Bayswater

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters responded to a fire on Queensway, Bayswater. 

The fire was located in the basement of a commercial property. A number of roads were closed as crews responded:

• The A4206 is closed between Westbourne Grove and Bishop's Bridge
• Queensway between the junctions of Porchester Road and Inverness Terrace.

Traffic is likely to remain impacted as crews remain on scene into the evening.

The Brigade was first called about the incident at 1539 and crews from Paddington, North Kensington and Kensington attended the scene. Crews had the fire under control by 1847.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
