Flat fire - Forest Hill

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters responded to a flat fire on Waldram Crescent, Forest Hill.

The fire was located in a mid-terraced house of three floors, that had been converted into flats. A three roomed flat on the second floor was extensively damaged by the fire. One man was rescued from the building by firefighters, before being taken to hospital by paramedics. A woman was also assessed on scene by paramedics before being removed to hospital. Seven other people left the building before the Brigade arrived. 

The Brigade received the first of five calls reporting the fire at 0501, and crews from Forest Hill, Lewisham, Bromley and surrounding fire stations attended the scene. Firefighters were able to bring the incident under control 0649. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade's Fire Investigation Unit.
