Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at an outbuilding on Marlpit Lane in Coulsdon.

One outbuilding and a shed were completely destroyed by fire. A small part of garden decking was also damaged in the blaze. Two gas cylinders were cooled to an ambient temperature and removed as a precaution, as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.

The Brigade's 999 Control officers received their first call alerting them to the fire at 1907 and deployed crews from Purley, Wallington and Forest Hill fire stations. The incident was over by 2049.
