Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire at a mixed-use building on Regent Street.
Part of the basement was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
Station Commander David Macdonald said: “Firefighters worked hard to bring the blaze under control, ensuring there were no injuries. Crews thoroughly searched the building to confirm no one was inside and ventilated the property to clear remaining smoke.
"As a precaution, one side of Regent Street was temporarily closed to safeguard the public, resulting in some disruption to the area.”
The Brigade’s Control Officers took the first 999 call at 1058 and mobilised crews from Soho, Lambeth, Paddington, West Hampstead and surrounding fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 1253.
The cause is under investigation.
