Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a block of flats on Exeter Road in Enfield.
Part of a three-roomed flat on the seventh floor was destroyed by fire in the 13 storey building. The flat's balcony was also damaged by the blaze, as well as the balcony belonging to the next door flat.
The Brigade was called at 1102 and the fire was under control by 1200. Fire crews from Enfield, Chingford and Edmonton fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental, caused by the incorrect disposal of smoking materials.
