Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters responded to a fire on New Kent Road, Southwark.
A four roomed ground floor flat, in a block of 18 floors, was destroyed by the fire. There are no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade received the first of 12 calls reporting the fire at 2302, and Control Officers mobilised crews from Old Kent Road, Dowgate, Lambeth and Peckham fire stations attended the scene. Firefighters were able to bring the incident under control by 0012.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade's Fire Investigation Team.
