House fire - Croydon

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a house on Blake Road in Croydon.

Half of the ground floor was damaged by the fire. A dog was rescued from the building by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus. There were no reports of any injuries.

Control Officers took the call at 1619 and mobilised crews from Croydon, Wallington and Beckenham fire stations to the scene. The incident was over for firefighters at 1651. 

The fire is believed to have been accidental and was caused by combustible items placed too close to a heat source.
