Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a house fire on Barlow Road in West Hampstead.
The whole of the ground floor and staircase were destroyed in the two-storey terraced house. The rest of the house was damaged by heat and smoke logging. Sadly, one dog was found dead inside the property.
The Brigade's Control officers received 18 calls alerting them to the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1031 and the fire was under control by 1136. Fire crews from West Hampstead, Willesden, Paddington, North Kensington, Kentish Town and Finchley fire stations.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
