Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a block of maisonettes on Kinglake Street in Southwark.
Part of a derelict three roomed maisonette split between the ground and first floors was damaged by the fire. Five people were led to safety by firefighters. One person was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service.
Control Officers took the call at 0724 and mobilised crews from Old Kent Road, Peckham, Dockhead and New Cross fire stations to the scene. The incident was over for firefighters at 0835.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
