Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters responded to a fire in the basement of an accommodation block on the Charring Cross Hospital grounds.
The incident occurred in the basement of an accommodation block of 17 floors. Part of a laundry room was damaged by the fire. Around 100 people evacuated the building before crews arrived, and there are no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was first called about the incident at 1945, and firefighters had the incident under control by 2020. Firefighters from Hammersmith, Fulham and Kensington fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental, caused by a build up of lint in an extraction vent catching fire.
