Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a mixed-use building on Pear Tree Street in Islington.

A bin store on the ground floor of the nine-storey building was destroyed by fire. Six people left the building before the arrival of the Brigade and were assessed on-scene by London Ambulance Service.

Control Officers were called at 1627 and mobilised crews from Euston, Soho and Whitechapel fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 1829.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
