Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire in storage cupboards on Grilse Close in Edmonton.
Part of a communal corridor on the ground floor of a three storey block of flats was destroyed by fire.
Around 17 people evacuated the building before the Brigade arrived on scene.
The Brigade's 999 Control centre received their first call alerting them to the fire at 0110 and the incident was over by 0230. Fire crews from Edmonton and Tottenham fire stations were in attendance.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade's fire investigators and the Met police.
