Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a house fire on Benson Avenue in East Ham.
Most of the first floor and the loft space of a mid-terraced house were damaged by the blaze. A small part of the fascia of a neighbouring property was also damaged. Two people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade's Control Officers took the first call to the fire at 0831 and mobilised crews from Stratford, Poplar, Plaistow, East Ham and Barking fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 1108.
The cause of the fire has been recorded as undetermined.
