Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters tackled a fire at a detached house with a loft conversion on Southwood Avenue, Kingston upon Thames.
Half of the first floor was damaged by the fire. Three people left the property before the Brigade arrived. There are currently no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade received the first of seven calls reporting the fire at 0620, with Control Officers mobilising crews from New Malden, Surbiton, Kingston and surrounding fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 0757.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and was caused by an electrical fault.
