Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters attended a fire at a block of flats on Evan Cook Close in Peckham.
Part of a flat on the second-floor of the five-storey building was damaged by fire. One woman left the flat before firefighters arrived. Around 30 people were evacuated by firefighters from the building as a precaution. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0941 and Control Officers mobilised crews from New Cross, Peckham, Old Kent Road and Greenwich fire stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 1100.
The cause of the fire has been recorded as undetermined.
