Firefighters responded alongside the Metropolitan Police Service to reports of a person climbing part of the Palace of Westminster.
One of the Brigade's 32m Ladders was deployed to the scene, alongside two specialist Fire Rescue Units. The Brigade's 32m was utilised by the police to carry out negotiations with the person climbing the building, and later firefighters were able to use it to safely bring the person to ground level.
The Brigade was first called about the incident 0732, and crews from Lambeth, Chelsea, Soho and Islington fire stations were at the scene. The incident was over for firefighters by 0008 (09 March), and the scene was left in the care of the police..
