The seventh strike by the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) this evening (Tuesday, 24 December) has now ended.
Throughout this period of industrial action the Brigade experienced a generally quiet evening, although the Emergency Fire Contingency Crews did attend a small number of primary fires in domestic premises.
A further period of strike action is planned for New Year’s Eve between 6.30pm and 12.30am. Contingency Fire Crews will again be in place to respond to 999 calls.
