Three fire engines & three fire rescue units and around 30 firefighters attended a reported sighting of a man under the water at male bathing pond in Hampstead Heath.
Station Manager Sam Kazmanli, who was at the scene said:
“Firefighters used three boats on the pond and carried out a methodical search. Despite our best efforts we were unable to locate the man and handed the incident over to the police.
“Shortly before 2300 police recovered the body of a male from the water, sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene. ”

The Brigade was called at 1742 and the incident was over 1927.
