Fire Cadets from across the country will compete to be crowned champions at the inaugural National Fire Cadets Games.

The games, which are free to attend, are taking place across the weekend of August 18 and 19. They are being jointly hosted by London Fire Brigade and Essex Fire and Rescue Service at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.

Fire cadets from around the country

Fire Cadets representing nearly all areas of the UK will take part in a series of events and challenges and compete against each other in teams.

Cadets will put the skills they have learnt at their units to the test and roll out hoses, tackle obstacle courses and climb ladders against the clock in a bid to be crowned the National Fire Cadets Champions 2018.

Try our fire gear

As well as watching the cadets compete, spectators can try on fire gear, climb into a fire engine and meet firefighters from local fire stations.

Our fire investigation dogs will also be in attendance to meet families.

Sara Perez, the Brigade’s youth engagement manager and Vice Chair of ‘National Fire Cadets’, said: “This is going to be such a fantastic weekend and cadets from across the country have all signed up to take part.

"register for your free tickets now"

“The weekend is free to attend to please register for your free tickets now to come along and support our fire cadets in action – I know they will all really appreciate having huge crowds to cheer them on.”

As well as the games, the Brigade and Essex FRS will showcase the fire prevention and protection work they do in local communities and nationally.

There will be a wide range of activities taking place across the weekend, including a community safety zone in the indoor arena where spectators can obtain free advice on fire safety, road safety and the Brigade’s youth engagement programmes.
