Today London Fire Brigade joins the world to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.

London Fire Commissioner Andy Roe, said: “London is joining communities across the globe to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort. I have the honour of representing the Brigade at today’s Coronation and being part of this special day.

“London Fire Brigade staff have worked hard to make sure those attending can celebrate safely. We have been working with our blue light partners to support the preparations to protect Londoners and tourists attending the event. Thousands of fire risk assessments and inspections have been carried out at premises across London. This includes transport hubs that many will travel into, as well as shops, restaurants, businesses and key venues that support delivery of the event.

“We have also made sure there is a wide range of resources available to respond to a range of emergencies, including large animal rescue. Our firefighters have been on hand to support people visiting London for the event this week, and in the crowds on the day. Whether you are joining the celebrations in London, having a street party or watching at home – make sure you celebrate safely.”

The Brigade's choir will also be taking part in the Coronation concert tomorrow night after wining a competition they took part in.
