'Play your cards right’ at Acton Fire Station? Bruce Forsyth would be proud!
And that’s not all… there were more games, a ukulele band, our well-being dogs, and a pile of party food at Acton’s tea party this summer.
Local residents were invited along and Red Watch were on hand to entertain, have a chat, and keep them smiling.
The tea party, just one of programme of events at Acton, was a real success. For some guests, who struggle to leave their home, or don’t have friends or family nearby, this was an opportunity to get out and just have a friendly chat with someone - which can make all the difference in combating loneliness.
Many thanks to Tesco Acton Vale, Morrisons Acton and Sainsbury's Horn Lane for their generous donations of food and support. And hats off to Sub Officer Kim Jerray-Silver, whose programme of events at Acton are legendary - requiring a huge amount of effort but making a real difference to the people of Acton.
