Dog detectives

head underground

Did you know that when our Fire Investigation dogs work on the London Underground they face special challenges?

Like a new air flow in a busy and cold environment where smells can travel through the tunnels from other stations. That definitely makes their work harder!

That’s why Fire Investigation Dog Simba, and his friends from other Brigades, headed to a disused underground station this month to carry out some training. They gave the escalators, cabinets and all around the train tracks a good sniffing and impressed their human colleagues (resulting in their favourite treat - playing with tennis balls!).

Simba and his regional colleagues are now better equipped to deal with an incident on the Underground and will repeat their training regularly.
