Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on St Albans Road in Ilford.
Part of a stairwell was damaged
One man was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation
Firefighters led 11 people to safety
The kittens are thought to have been born in the wall cavity
Fortunately, there were no reports of any injuries
An electrical fault in a washing machine is believed to be the cause of a house fire
