Counselling and Trauma Service - Creation of Additional Staff Counsellor Posts

Following the recommendations of the Grenfell Tower report and a visit to the Counselling and Trauma Service (CTS) by the Deputy Mayor for Fire and Resilience, the London Assembly was supportive of the capacity of mental health provision in London Fire Brigade (LFB) including direct counselling, being increased.

Update on LFC Support to the London Ambulance Service During the Pandemic

Report LFC-0467 seeks the agreement of the London Fire Commissioner (LFC) to provide continuing support to the London Ambulance Service (LAS) during the COVID-19 pandemic. In March 2020, at the beginning of the Covid pandemic, the LFC agreed to provide assistance to the LAS due to the significant rise in the demand on that service which the LAS was unable to meet. That provision has continued throughout, but the number of personnel deployed by the LFC has reduced over time.

CoVID-19 Lessons Learnt – First Wave

This report provides an account of the lessons learnt to date throughout the organisation from the first wave of the CoVID-19 pandemic. It provides information on the actions taken by the Brigade to carry out its daily activities to ensure that it continues to function normally as far as possible and also identifies ways of working introduced in response to the current situation that the organisation may wish to learn from to inform future ways of working.

LFB Museum Project

This report provides an overview of; activity at the London Fire Brigade Pop-up Museum since November 2016; the plans in place for the delivery for the new Museum as part of the 8 Albert Embankment Project; the sucessful National Lottery Heritage Fund bid for the £200k development phase of a total £1.9m grant application for the London Fire Brigade Museum; the competitive procurement process for the Museum Design Team and Project Manager creation of the London Fire Brigade Museum project board.

LFB Ladder Life Replacement Programme 2020-2022

The London Fire Brigade's Ladders have a 15 year life span and are due for replacement within the terms of the Babcock Vehicles and Equipment contract. There are four different ladders in service that are included in the required 2020-22 life replacement programme. In total 300 ladders are due for replacement. Ladders are an integral and critical part of the London Fire Brigade's operational response, and are vital to the service the LFB provides London.
