Reprofiling of Capital Funding - Additional Expenditure for Plumstead Fire Station and Lambeth River Station works

This reports the commitment of additional capital expenditure for the amount set out in the Part 2 report for ongoing works to Plumstead Fire Station and Lambeth River Station. The funding will be covered via savings achieved in the Capital Asset Management Replacement Programme (LFC-0533y and LFC-0614y and DMFDs 120 and 147) as detailed in the Part 2 report.

Unwanted Fire Call Signals (AFA) - Post Consultation Recommendations

This report seeks LFC agreement to deal with the persistent problem of Unwanted Fire Signals (UwFS) by future non-attendance to Automatic Fire Alarms (AFAs) at commercial premises, save for some limited cases, during daytime hours of 07:00 – 20:30 hours. The report reviews previous initiatives, looks at the legal requirements and highlights benefit over risk, by analysing empirical data from the past five years.

LFB Estate Strategy 2024 - 2029

This report seeks agreement to a proposed Estates Strategy document which is an enabling strategy for the Community Risk Management Plan. It is based on the estate principles, vision, strategic themes and objectives. A preliminary paper with the principles was agreed through LFB Governance in July 2023 (LFC-23-074).

London Fire Brigade Fleet Strategy 2024 - 2035

This report seeks agreement to a proposed Fleet Strategy document which is an enabling strategy for the Community Risk Management Plan. It is based on the fleet principles, vision, and objectives. These have been derived from engagement with Babcock International, the Carbon Net Zero project and operational colleagues.

Review of Discipline and Grievance Policies

This report recommends the approval of the revised policies and procedures relating to discipline and grievance for all staff of the London Fire Commissioner (LFC). These documents will replace existing policies with an aim to improve process and consistency across all complaints procedures in line with the formation of the Professional Standards Unit (PSU).

Replacement Finance and Purchasing System

In 2021, a decision for a replacement Finance and Purchasing System and commitment of revenue expenditure was approved to develop, implement and maintain a Finance and Purchasing solution over a contract term of 5 years with an option to extend for a further 5 year period.
